abstract:

Logistics has recently received much attention inboth practical and academic fields. So far, many logistics issues have beenraised and studied in academia. However, there should be many various andimportant real-world logistics problems that are not fully researched or thateven remain unexplored. Therefore, this presentation seeks, through my sharingof some of the main logistics works in which I have or am currently engaging,to not only inspire researchers to participate in the research on logistics management,but also to help them bring forth new and interesting logistics researchtopics. The research works to be introduced include global logistics,distribution logistics, facility location, city logistics, hazmat logistics,natural disaster logistics, perishable products logistics, and so on.

Tsung-Sheng Chang received the Ph.D. degree intransportation systems engineering from Cornell University (School of Civil andEnvironmental Engineering). He is a Professor in the Department ofTransportation and Logistics Management at National Chiao Tung University,Taiwan. His research focuses on developing optimization and modeling proceduresto large-scale, complex transportation and logistics problems. His research hasbeen published in various Journals such as Transportation Science,Transportation Research Part B, and European Journal of Operational Research.
